What a packing list is for
A packing list tells whoever opens the shipment exactly what should be inside it. It travels with the goods and is used to check the contents on arrival, by the receiving warehouse and often by customs.
Like a delivery order, it deliberately carries no prices. The commercial invoice covers value; the packing list covers contents.
Two signatures, two different jobs
The packed-by signature identifies who assembled the shipment. The checked-by signature confirms someone else verified it. Keeping those separate is the simplest possible control against short-shipping, and it is why the generated document prints both.

What is the difference between a packing list and a commercial invoice?
A packing list describes what is physically in the shipment: items, units, quantities and packages. A commercial invoice states the value of the goods and is what customs uses to assess duty. Shipments usually need both.
Should a packing list show prices?
No. Values belong on the commercial invoice. A packing list showing prices exposes your commercial terms to everyone who handles the shipment.
