Design Suite Labs

Design Suite Labs (also known as IDLabs) is a custom ERP built for interior-design studios in Singapore. It was created as part of a collaboration involving HashMeta and Digital9 Labs, with the lead client being SG Renovate, a residential renovation firm taking it up under an Enterprise Development Grant. The system is aimed at residential design and renovation studios that still run their day-to-day work on spreadsheets and chat apps.

An interior-design firm has to juggle a lot at once: quoting new enquiries, turning accepted quotes into live projects, tracking variation orders as scopes change on site, ordering from suppliers, billing clients in stages, and working out commissions across a sales team. When all of that lives in Excel files and WhatsApp threads, quotes take hours to prepare and look inconsistent, follow-ups get forgotten, variation work goes unbilled because no one logged it, and commission calculations turn into disputes the team has to resolve by hand. Studios that respond slowly or look less polished lose deals to competitors who can quote and sign on the spot. Design Suite Labs brings quoting, contracts, projects, procurement, billing and commissions into one place so a studio can move faster and keep nothing falling through the cracks.

How we helped

We built a full back-office ERP for interior-design studios. It covers the whole job from first enquiry to final invoice: a leads pipeline for tracking enquiries, a quotation builder with reusable templates and an item catalogue, digital contracts that clients can sign online, project tracking, variation orders, supplier and procurement records, invoices with payments and statements of account, and credit and debit notes. A commissions module handles commission schemes and overrides so payouts are calculated transparently rather than argued over. The platform supports multi-company setups, so a studio with several brands or branches can keep separate branding, bank accounts and staff permissions, with role-based access and an admin layer over the top. It is built on a modern web stack (React with Supabase) and runs as a live demo, with a separate marketing site that lets a studio see a personalized breakdown of where its current process loses time and money.

What other businesses can take from this:

  • When work currently lives in spreadsheets and chat, the win is consolidation — one system from enquiry to invoice removes the handoffs where things get lost.
  • Quote and contract speed is a sales advantage; templates plus online signing let you respond before a competitor does.
  • Capture the small revenue leaks — logging every variation order and billing it is often found money a manual process drops.
  • Make commission rules visible in the software so payouts are calculated, not negotiated, which protects team morale.
  • Build multi-company and role-based access in early if you serve firms with several branches or brands — it is far harder to retrofit later.
